Myoko ski resorts all have rental stations on mountain but the gear can be quite basic.
Akakura Onsen village has the most ski & snowboard shops and is the best place to look for multi day hires. Some shops will even pick up your gear from your hotel when you are finished. Make sure you have the right gear for Myoko’s deep powder days.
Go Myoko has Burton LTR boards and Volkl skis & boards for learners. Their premium rentals include boards from K2 and Ride and powder skis from K2 & Line.
Aoyama Sports in the Onsen village has powder skis & boards available for rental.
At Powder Recon you can try out snowboards from local Nagano brands Prana Punks & Green Lab.
Joey’s are the boot fitting specialist and they will get your ski & snowboard boots fitted professionally. They also rent ski & snowboard gear including Japanese brands - TJ Brand and Green Lab.
If you are visiting Seki Onsen, the rental station has a selection of powder skis and boards if you need a bit more float to handle that sekipow.
